In April I started doing my Stampin' Up card class again where I go once a month and make cards and order supplies. It has been fun, and is a good way for me to keep up my stamping hobby. This time around we have been learning a lot more techniques.
The first card has a faux metal finish which is really cool and simple to do.
How to get this cool Faux Metal Finish
(These are my stampin' up demonstrators' instructions)
1. Start with a light colored cardstock like Sahara Sand or Going Grey. Using your VersaMark pad apply ink all over cardstock.
2. Cover with a metallic emossing poweder (silver or gold).
3. Heat with heat tool. Let cool completely.
4. Once cool, repeat this process - VersaMark and then embossing powerder and heat.
5. Once cool, run through the Big Shot (or cuttlebug) using any of our impressions folders.
This is another neat technique that uses the Big Shot or Cuttlebug. After using an impressions folder to create the textured look we applied the card directly to an ink pad to bring out the textures. Using this impression folder we get a faux rattan/wicker look.
NOTE: The stampin' up impression folders work with the Cuttlebug as well. The are still pretty inexpensive, but offer a lot more variety.
These are just some other cards I've made.
Sorry, I don't know how to rotate this. If you have a laptop, rotate your screen, if you have a desktop, turn your head sideways.
I'm thinking of using a similar layout to this one for my baby announcements. I've been ordering supplies for them and am excited to get started!
