Summer Trip 2016 - Headingley and Winnipeg

Our summer trip of 2016 took place from August 11 to August 21. We drove in one day to Headingley and spent a couple of days at my parents before going to the Lake of the Woods. We had a great time being 'tourists' of my home town with the family.

 My parents had free passes to the Children's Museum, so we had a great time playing around, and then met Grandma and Grandpa at the Forks for Simon's Argentinian Empanadas. They were delicious!

We're still a family trying to figure out "selfies." Tessa was in the stroller, and just didn't make the cut!

 My mom and I went to Rainbow Stage to see Shrek the Musical. A fun night out!

 We finally went to the new Assiniboine Zoo after all the renovations. It was amazing! This was the summer of Zoo's for us and Winnipeg was way better than Edmonton, and I think better than Calgary too. 

 The polar bears were so cool (pun intended), and put on such a great show for us!

 One night Chris and I snuck out and played mini-golf at Thunder Rapids and then went out for dessert near Osborne Village at Baked Expectations. It was delicious! But neither one of us could finish!

 After the Lake of the Woods we had a rest day before heading home and went to Thunder Rapids.

 Tessa learned to crawl on the trip!

As always, a super trip!!

Macy Turns 6!!

In the middle of July Macy had a friend birthday party in our backyard. It was a fun day with water balloons, the sprinkler, games, squirt gun art, cake, and good friends.

 The day after we got back from Canmore was Macy's birthday. 

 Her big present was going horse back riding!! Unfourtunately I would have had to pay an outrageous fee to have a photographer take her pictures with the horse's, so we have have none of those, but we did go. Both Macy and I rode for about 20 minutes. She was in heaven!

Macy continues to be a fun loving, happy go lucky girl. She has great friends in the neighbourhood and at school and church. She loves horses, riding her bike and being outside, and chocolate cake!

August Long Weekend 2016 - Canmore and Lake Louise, Alberta

Lucky us got an invitation to spend the August Long weekend with the Fixsen's in Canmore. Considering we had a blast the last time, we didn't hesitate at all! It was another great weekend!

Highlights: Going swimming at Quarry Lake and "cliff" jumping. Going to Lake Louise (my first time) and hiking the area. Hanging out with the Fixsen's and the Chiu's. Playing games and eating good food. Pie Face! Canmore Candy Store and Ice Cream Shop. Running in the mountains. Sticking to the populated trails to avoid the bears! Chris hiking Ha Ling.
