Spring Break March 2017

Spring break found us staying around town and finding fun things to do. We spent one day at Millennium Place. Since it was Spring Break they had the field house set up with bouncy castles and extra activities for the kids to do and everyone had a blast.
This hockey rink was in high demand, but we found it free for a moment and the girls had fun!
We spent another day driving down to Calgary with the Fixsen's to go to the Telus Spark. Our membership at the Edmonton Telus World of Science got us in for free, and their museum is great!
They have a fun outdoor play area as well. Even though it was cool and windy, the kids had a blast.
I love this area where the kids are designers and create their own outfits. They love it too.
 Fashionistas Macy and Isla.
On the Saturday we went out to Madison's rodeo. She is one of my young women. It was cool to see her barrel race, they are fast! She was so kind and let Macy ride her horse for a quick walk around the yard.
Horse lover Macy was in heaven!

Canmore and Lake Louise March 10-13, 2017

Thanks to the best friends ever, the Fixsen's, we took a little weekend holiday in March to Canmore, Alberta and Lake Louise for skiing, snowboarding, and some R&R (does this really ever happen on a family vacay???!). We left town Friday after work and drove to Canmore where we stayed with the Fixsen's at their condo. Isla joined us for the ride down and was super helpful feeding Tessa french fries and keeping her happy! Saturday Chris, Brett, and Wyatt when skiing at Lake Louise. From the sounds of it, it was the perfect ski day with fresh snow and great weather. Leslie and I stayed back with the girls. We bundled up and went for walks, played in the snow, and took a trip to the beloved Candy store.
Sunday we travelled in to Banff. We tried delicious Beaver Tails...but if I'm being totally honest, Chris and I make better fried bread dough at home..but it's all about the experience. We played games and enjoyed time out of doors surrounded by the mountains and fresh air!
Wyatt, Tessa, Isla, Macy, Stella, Rachel.
Cold and snow is fun when your in the mountains!
Monday Leslie and I took off and went snowboarding. Our weather wasn't as ideal. It snowed and was over cast for the majority of the day, but still fun to be out in the mountains. It had been over two years since I had snowboarded.
Chris and Brett took all the kids to the pool at Elevation Place while we were out. We all headed back home and arrived late Monday night. It was a great mini trip, so glad we could make it.

Goofin' around!
Painting - Macy is getting her "100th Day of School" project ready.
Trip to the Telus World of Science on a day off from school.
Rachel got asked to help out with the demo, she did an awesome job and exactly what she was asked of.
Macy and I took a quick trip down to Lethbridge, AB for my Great Aunt Melba's funeral. My friend Natasha drove us down while she visited family. It was nice to be able to attend the funeral and see family. Macy had a great time eating junk food and watching movies on the 5 hour drive.
We celebrated Chris getting his Professional Engineering Designation. Our good friend's the Fixsen's were also celebrating Brett getting his PEng. We got to go to a dinner and they got a fancy pin. Oooh, ahhh, you're also jealous of the pin I know!!
Leslie and I along for the ride and free food.
This is how we cook at our house!!??!

Zoo to You and Rachel is the Special Helper!

Last February 2017 I volunteered at Rachel's preschool when she was the special helper and we had a special in school field trip with Zoo to You. It was the best day to volunteer (which we had to do, it wasn't an option). The lady who runs the program is awesome and the kids loved it. Rachel was super brave and since she was special helper got to be the first kid to hold one of the animals. She set a great tone for the rest of the kids.
