A Fly on the Wall
Yesterday I subbed at a high school that has a great culinary arts program. They have a full kitchen and the students do all the cooking for the cafeteria and any special meals or events the school puts on. All I did was watch it all happen. They have three chefs in there that help them and tell them what to do, so I just felt like a fly on the wall watching it all take place. It was really fun. They made everything from pizza and subs and soups, to fancy breads, buns, cakes, and cookies. A few of the students are preparing for the Skills Canada competition where they compete against other students from other schools. I was so impressed at what they were making. One girl made this stuffed pork tenderloin with mango salsa, and the presentation was amazing! It made me really want to take a culinary class and was probably my favorite sub day.

You guys really should take one. They are really fun and open to the public to sign up for check it out at your local community college. I keep telling John that "when we're rich" (ha ha) I want to go back and get the whole culinary arts degree.
