Absolute Annihilation

Two weeks ago Chris and I got free tickets from my work to go to Castrol Raceway for their Absolute Annihilation night. We got there early and watched a few drag races before the event began. We watched various rally car races and bus and ambulance races, plus they did a few car drops and lit some cars on fire. It was a great event, especially because it was free!

Watching the drag races.

The Matress Race - the driver and one passenger had to hold onto the matress as they raced. After they auctioned the matresses off, new Queen Sealy Pillow Top - some people got quite the deal.

The buses racing - the grey one apparently didn't have any breaks. I think the bus races were among the best because they would slide into eachother and really put on a show for the audiance.

They are going to light this car on fire with a jet engine.
We could feel the heat from the flames.
And it is pretty much toast. I could see when the windows shattered from the heat.
Having a good time.
Getting ready for the car drop.

The Car Drop

Lighting another car on fire.

Wow. That is the most red neck event I think I've ever seen and I've been to a lot of demolition derby's! I'm so jealous I wish I could have been there. I love stuff like that.

Awesome!!

I particularly like the little "no smoking" sign at the bottom of the screen as they blast that car.

PS - Nice hat, Chris!
