You need to make sure it's the right pixel dementions. I can never remember what the size is but if you go into your design section of you blog you can see what the dimensions of your header are (or you can google it). I then go to www.picnik.com (but there are probably other photo edit places too) and I upload a picture or I create a picture and then where it says change size I can then change it to be the exact size of my header.
