Yuck!

After many 'yummy' food posts, here is a 'yuck' post. On Saturday it rained all day, and then the rain turned to snow in the evening and it snowed all night! Thankfully Sunday afternoon the snow turned back to rain and melted away all the snow, but still, even for Edmonton, its getting a little late for snow!!

A happy mother's day!

For Mother's Day Chris made his speciality to take over to Beaumont for Sunday dinner...cream pies. As always, they were delicious. This time he outdid himself on the chocolate cream pies adding oreo cookies to the cream. So good!!!

Wings

A couple of weeks ago we made our first attempt at homemade wings. Chris loves wings. I never knew that I did too until I married him and one day tried some wings we had ordered from Pizza 73. Mmm, they were delicious. So we finally decided to make them ourselves. I would say it was a pretty good success. They took a long time to make (partly because I wasn't totally prepared), but it was worth the wait. I used a recipe that had us first bread them with flour and some spices, and then coat them with melted butter and tobasco sauce. However we found they were best when we added Franks Red Hot Sauce after they were cooked.
Do you think he likes them??!

Changes

Lots has been happening around our house. I recently returned to work at Millennium Insurance. Although subbing was fun and great experience, I wasn't getting enough hours to get full maternity benefits. Here in the great white north, I get 52 weeks of maternity leave where the government pays for 55% of my wages, up to about $1800 a month. So naturally I want to qualify for this and working at Millennium will allow me too. Last week was my first full 5 day work week in a very long time and I was so tired by the end!! Chris also just finished classes. He starts work tomorrow so I'm sure I'll be posting a picture of his beloved new work truck once he picks it up. In church I got a new calling. I'm now the second counselor in the primary. I'm excited and love that I am still in primary. Life is busy, but after having extra down time since I graduated, I can appreciate it. Things are good!
