Moving

Macy took hold of the camera last week and this is the picture she took. Not surprising, as we had/have boxes everywhere!
We have officially moved in to our new place and gave up possession of our old house last Wednesday. It has been a busy and stressful few weeks, but it is starting to look better. Carpets are being cleaned tomorrow, and then we can finally get really settled in.
Here's Macy in our empty house watching 'Curious George' while we do some cleaning.
In front of 3453 11 Street. I will definitely miss this place. It was our first house we purchased and a perfect home. We moved in as two, and moved out as 3.5. Lots of special memories, and a great ward. It was bittersweet to drive away, but I know we will have great memories and great home in our new house!

How to get what you want

The other day Macy told her Dad she wanted to give him a piggy back ride, and had him get on her shoulders. Cute, right? That's what I thought, so I snapped a picture. Then, not a second later she says, 'My turn, now you give me a piggy back ride!' Hah! How can you say no, she gave you one. What a clever girl!

Hair Cut

I love Macy's beautiful long locks, but they were a bit of a pain to comb and keep untangled. So, despite my hesitations, a first ever hair cut was in order. It still looks cute, but I miss the length. Good thing hair grows!
Just so you can see how long and beautiful it was.
I took her to a friend's, who also happens to be the nursery leader in our ward and someone Macy loves. Which I think made the process go very smoothly.
I don't know what's with the face. Very serious.
 Nice modelling pose Macy!

More Birthday Fun

Chris' birthday comes last but definitely not least! After enjoying her own birthday so much, Macy was excited for Dad's birthday too. Chris worked, but we enjoyed dinner (chicken enchiladas), cake, presents, and his presence last Wednesday, August 7th.
Chris and his haul. After making Macy's cake I opted to just purchase Chris'!
Chris graciously let Macy help open gifts, especially the candy that Macy got for her Dad.
28! Happy Birthday Chris, hope it was a good one!

Birthday Fun

August 1, Macy turned 3 years old! Hard to believe, but it's the case. We had fun celebrating her birthday and just how wonderful she is!
Here she is the night before, still just two, sleeping so peacefully.
Macy woke up early, excited for her special day. We started it off with pancakes and syrup, a favorite of Macy's. After getting ready we went to the library for story time, and it turned out to be a special story time about underwater creatures. We watched a little video clip about dolphins, read some books, and did a fish craft. After we went to the playground before coming home for lunch.
After quite time we made Macy's cake. She loved eating the icing and stirring in the food colouring. Then we waited for Dad to come home for dinner (cheese quesidillas - Macy's favorite), cake, and presents.

Showing off the watch she got from mom and dad. She also got some clothes, books, a baseball glove, some toy kitchen equipment, and other little goodies.

Grandpa Lamont and Natasha came over for cake and ice cream and to sing to Miss Macy.
We love having this girl in our family. She is full of life and imagination. Happy Birthday Macy!

Flowers and Rocks

Macy loves playing outside, and would spend all day out of doors if she could. She recently has been allowed to climb up and sit on the rocks in our rock garden. Above is a pretty rose we having growing. Below is Macy sitting with her balls. She will often sit with them on the rocks. Sometimes they sit on the rocks by themselves because they are in time-out for not listening or hitting someone in the eye. She's got quite an imagination this one.

Fun when your two

We spent a lot of July cramming in the fun things you can still do for free when you're two! Two days before Macy's birthday we went to Galaxy Land (again) with Clark, Bruce, and Aunt Crystal.
She loves the horsies. We rode them many times!
'Not through this gate!' Words repeated many times by Macy.
Waiting patiently to get on the train ride.

A couple of crazy drivers if you ask me!
One day before her birthday we went to the Telus World of Science for one last morning of free fun. Again, we met Dad for a yummy picnic lunch, and then watched a show in the full dome theater.
 We love this girl!
