Macy!

I’m long overdue for a post about Macy. She is 3 and a half and growing up so much. Preschool has been great for Macy. She loves going, and seeing her friends. She has learnt so much, and her vocabulary grows daily.
Some fun things about Macy:
Favorite foods: Still cheese and yogurt, but she is better now about eating rice, and noodles, and carrots. Right now she is into chocolate pudding, and has actually started liking ice cream!

Favorite toys: She has loved playing with the miniature princess set she got from Grandma Cutts at Christmas. She plays with them usually first thing in the morning, and during quiet time. Belle and Cinderella are her favorite. She is also into playing with her lego princess and lego horse. The lego princess is usually called Princess Bala (from the movie ‘Ants’), and the horse is usually Bulls Eye (from ‘Toy Story’). She still has a great imagination, and plays a lot with her hands. She has regularly been sleeping with her Dora doll, from which we all get a hug and kiss from at night, and occasionally says the bedtime prayer.

Favorite songs: ‘Strangers Like Me’ from Tarzan, ‘Want Something that I Want’ from Tangled, and ‘Let if Go’ from Frozen. She loves to have music put on and runs around the living room dancing and singing along, she knows a lot of the words. She has great dance moves, especially when she ‘wiggles her booty’!

Favorite movies/shows: Frozen, Gnomeo and Juliet, Strawberry Short Cake: Land of Dreams, Despicable Me.

Favorite daily activities: Loves to go to the library. She has been participating in an unparented library class every Thursday and learns fun rhymes while there. Our library is awesome, and there is a great play area that we spend time in after her class. She loves going to any indoor playground (spring can`t come soon enough), and next year I am definitely getting a pass, which will be much more economical. She is great at playing with Rachel, and making sure she is happy, and is very protective of her. She enjoys colouring, and playing with playdough.

Favorite sayings: `I got this.` 'I`m on it.' 'So here`s the problem.'  'Listen Dad,'  'Don`t look at me!'

Fun moments: The other night she read us all a book. She had the book in front of her, and even a toy as a prop. She made up a story using three different story lines from three separate books. It was very entertaining and thought out. We were totally impressed.
She has also started praying all by herself. Usually we are blessed to be nice to everyone, and that we can do everything, and that we won`t die.
She likes to pretend play, where we go to the castle to get married, either by boat, or rocket ship. She will marry anyone... we need to work on her standards!
She`s already been to two birthday parties (both for friends at preschool). I can`t believe she is already at that age.
We are so excited for the summer, and for fun outside, and to see what this creative girl will come up with next!

Zombie Baby

They need to make a pair of pajamas like these my size, since I'm such a zombie mama when I get up in the middle of the night! Of course not as cute as this zombie!

Valentine's Day

So this is the first year I think we've really done Valentine's Day with Macy. It's fun now that she gets excited about all the holidays. On Thursday they had a Valentine's party at preschool that she had been looking forward to all month. She got some good treats. Nowadays almost all the cards seem to come with some kind of candy. She got home, dumped out her bag, and began eating her goods!
On Valentine's Day she had to wear her Valentine dress (which she still calls this dress, and still wants to wear it every other day). She got a new colouring book, the kind that work with the crayola mess free markers, and some chocolates from us.
We went downtown to meet Chris after work and tried out a new place called 'La poutine'. Not kid friendly, as there were hardly any seats, but pretty good. They have all kinds of poutine's you can try, like pizza, donair, and Grandma's roast chicken. We got a traditional (fries, gravy, and cheese) and tried a perogy one (fries, gravy, cheese, fried onions, sour cream, and fried sausage). Both were good. I don't think I would rate the place as best poutine ever, but I would go back again.
We had a relaxing night at home, and got ready for Grandma and Grandpa Cutts to come the next morning for Rachel's blessing weekend!

New Years Eve 2013

New Years eve was our last day spent in Winnipeg. So we were busy getting things ready to go for the next day. We thought about going out during the day to some of the free events at the Forks, but it was -40 Celsius, so we opted for staying inside. We celebrated with some delicious Chinese food, and a countdown with balloons at 8pm!
Grandma had some fun glow sticks for Macy to play with, and at the strike of 8 pm we popped balloons in the living room. Macy hesitated at first, and then caught on to the fun.
2013 was a great year for our family, and a busy one. Chris graduated (yay!) and started a new job, we bought a car, sold our house, bought a house, and had a baby! Macy also started pre-school, and grew-up so much in language and ability throughout the year. We are sure blessed.
It's a little late to say Happy New Year, since we are half way through March, but here's wishing everyone is having a great year so far!
