Telus World of Science!

A big thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Cutts for our Christmas gift passes to the Telus World of Science. We checked it out today and had so much fun. First we went to the Star Theater (like the planetarium) and watched a Holiday Music and Magic film. It was fun with good music and cool pictures to go along. Macy enjoyed it, especially the train that went to the North Pole!
After the show we checked out the kid’s area. They had lots of fun interactive stuff. We checked into the airport, went through security, checked our baggage, boarded the plane, and then ended up co-piloting it!

Next was the water table. Macy loved this and laughed the whole time. It reminded me of the fun times we had at the McWane center in Alabama.

Last we checked out the tree house.
Macy and I in front of one of their many Christmas trees.
We only went to a part of the museum, which is the benefit of having an annual pass. We can check the rest out later! Thanks again Grandma and Grandpa!

Santa!

This afternoon we went out with Grandma Lamont, Uncle Spencer, Aunt Pam, and cousin Paisley to see Santa!
Macy knows who Santa is and that he says 'Ho Ho Ho' and that he will be coming to her house soon. She recognized Santa right away and was excited to see him.
While waiting for Santa we met his head elf and took a picture with him.
This Santa was great! I really think we got the real deal. His beard was real and he was so jolly and nice. He invited Macy to sit on his knee or to sit on the arm of his chair. He was so happy that she came to see him now because he wanted her to know that when he comes to visit at Christmas he will do it when Macy is asleep, so she won't be able to see him then. I was glad he clarified this because I was worried that Macy thought Santa was coming to her house to play with her. Santa is so smart. He knows just what to say.
Macy did play shy and mostly just wanted the candy canes that were in his sac. But she did do better than her cousin.
Paisley did that class kid scream. It was loud and it was clear she did not want to sit on this strange man's lap!
They both were happy though to get their candy and get back in the cool car they were riding!
It was a lot of fun. This Santa was at the Sherwood Park Mall and you brought your own camera to take pictures with him. So great!! We'll have to make this an annual occurrence!

Macy's Room

After we got back from Fort McMurray I painted what used to be Chris' work room and we moved Macy into it. I painted the dresser at the same time and was so happy with how it turned out. I waited on posting pictures because Macy still had her crib in there and I didn't love the overall look with the brown crib. About a week ago we moved Macy to a big bed (the box spring and mattress are still on the floor) as she was wrecking the crib mattress by jumping on it all the time. I got this great bedding set from Superstore and I LOVE how the room has turned out!
Such a big girl!
p.s. she is playing with her toys known as Grandma and Grandpa!

WEM

A couple of weeks ago we took advantage of a free afternoon and Galaxy Land's free under 3 to have some fun family time. It had been awhile since we'd been with Macy and she was definitely more into the rides. She loved riding on the cars and helicopter and since it wasn't too busy we rode them a lot!
 On the horsey!
I got kicked out the helicopter after this picture. It actually moves up and down as it goes around and around, and I didn't meet the weight requirement!
Riding in style!

Thanksgiving

So grateful to have a reason to celebrate Thanksgiving twice a year, and grateful to have good friends to share it with.
Delicious!

Sleep Time

Found this one fast asleep on the chair in her room awhile back. Guess the bed just wasn't comfy enough!

The Book Thief

Life has been busy, but I've managed to get some light reading in. I just finished this book about a young German girl who's family hides a Jew, all narrated by death itself. It was pretty good. Pick it up if you are looking for something over the holidays.

Ice Ice Baby!

A couple weeks ago Chris and I went to an Eskimos Football game (I saved up my grocery store points and we got in for $10 bucks a piece:). It was a very cold night and we had just had a lot of snow, but that's not the reason this post is titled 'Ice Ice Baby'. Included in our game vs. Calgary (major rivalry) was a half time show with Vanilla Ice!! Woohoo. It was great! Well, the attendance at the game was poor, due to the weather, which made my singing along and dancing to the music very solo, but that's alright. Vanilla Ice performed 'Go Ninja, Go Ninja, Go' (probably not the title of the song) from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and referenced a couple times how he still loved those turtles. And of course he performed 'Ice, Ice, Baby'. It was fun.
The game was also really great. We were down in the first quarter, but came back to tie, and lost it literally in the last 4 seconds. Too bad, but makes for an exciting game to watch!
The classic hot dog picture.
And Chris' dog.
Vanilla Ice performing. They had this mini crowd around his mini stage. We were up pretty high, but could still see him.
Very cold, but having fun. It was a great date night!

Trick or Treat, Smell my Feet!

Bundled up and ready to go!
CANDY!!!
Chris and I both took turns taking her out. We did a total of 1 block and Macy got tons of candy! Wind, snow, ice, and -15C weather, no big deal!
Home and happy to get eating her loot!

A little Update

We've been very busy around here and can't believe it is already the end of October! Chris is busy in school and in the middle of mid-terms. He is suffering a little from Senoritis, so I try to remind him to enjoy this last year and the freedom's that student life bring that a full time job won't have.

I started a new job in the middle of September. I am the Foods teacher at Vimy Ridge Academy (a grade 7-12 sports academy). I only work mornings, but have been busy catching up with planning and marking that the hours seem a little more than part-time. It is a good gig though, and I am learning a lot and stretching myself, which I think is a good thing. Chris and I are both playing indoor soccer again on Monday nights and are so grateful for Grandma Lamont who watches Macy. We both got new callings, Chris in nursery and I as the visiting teaching coordinator, but our ward boundaries just changed last week and we lost half our ward and gained a lot from another ward, so right now we don't know what are callings are!

Macy is as feisty as ever! She is growing and getting smarter everyday. She talks lots now and I can understand a good chunk of what she says. She learns new words everyday and remembers a lot. She does have her own words for things (like 'meeka' for blanket, 'nee-bee' for excuse me or move, and says laundry like 'yawn-ee'), but I love hearing her little voice develop.  She has got her own potty and is pretty good at using it, but I don't think we will be diaper free just yet.

We are busy, but we are blessed, life is good!

Some 'cheese' with that apple!

What a cheesy grin!
She's a funny one this girl. And she knows it! She constantly tells us 'I funny!'

Fall is Here!

Chris is back at school, I am back subbing, and the city is turning its beautiful fall colours. Fall is here and I love it! We have been taking advantage of the time Chris had between the end of work and the start of school, and the beginning of the semester not being too busy yet. On the long weekend we went and saw the new Batman. Very good. We both enjoyed it. We also checked out the Edmonton Street Car Trolly with our friends the Anderson's.
Ethan and Macy. They really enjoyed it, even when we went through the very dark tunnel.
We've been busy with work around the house, and catching up with friends. Today Chris is out helping his brother build a deck so Macy and I checked out the Fall Festival at the Millcreek Tree Farm right by our house. We went on a hay ride, did a craft, tasted some fresh apples from their orchard, blew bubbles, got some free loot, listened to music, and had a hot dog. All for free (except the hot dog, $2.00).
Macy with our bag of free stuff and the craft she did. It is a bunny rabbit, can't you tell?? She did it herself.
On our way out. She was ready to go.
Not wanting her picture taken at all!
Later today we are heading out to our Ward's BBQ and picnic at the park. We are looking forward to all the fun things the Fall season brings.

Miss Macy Jane

She's a big girl now!
It's been just over a week of Macy in the big bed. She is still learning to sleep on the bed and not floor, and tends to roll off the bed in her sleep a lot. Hopefully she gets the hang of it soon, before she gets any permanent damage!

Some things I've been doing lately...

Crocheting baby gifts!
I'm still learning, but I'm pretty happy with my results. Thank you youtube!
 I just love these colours!
