Summer Play

We have been going to the Telus World of Science lots this last month, once Macy turns 3 she's no longer free!
Last week we went in the morning and met Dad for a picnic lunch. It was fun to see him during the week day.

After lunch, Chris went back to work and we went in to watch a show in their full-dome theater. It was Big Bird's Adventure, we learned about the sky and stars, and saw Big Bird and Elmo. Macy loved it!

Hobbies

I like crocheting, but never seem to do it unless I have a deadline, so when I found out Amy was having a girl, I started working on a baby blanket for her. I gave myself lots of time....of course, I ended up finishing it mostly in one weekend, past my deadline. Oh well, it was finished in time to send before beautiful baby Winnie came along.

I love the shell boarder and the soft yarn, it even has a bit of sparkle in it. It is far from perfect, but made with love. Welcome to the world little Winnie Treanor!

Wet n' Wild Cousins!

Aunt Pam and Paisley were up for a visit at the beginning of the month. It was so fun to see them and Macy loved playing with Paisley. After going to West Ed one morning to ride the rides with Aunt Pam, Paisley, Aunt Crystal, Clark, Bruce, and Grandma, we had lunch at the Old Spaghetti Factory and then everyone came over to our place for some backyard fun. It was a beautiful hot day so we pulled out the swimsuits and slip'n slide and got wet! We ate freezies and shot Grandpa with water guns. What a fun day!

Grandpa stopped by after work and Macy loved snacking with him on the picnic blanket!

Canada Day

I love Canada Day! It is one of my favorite holidays. This year was especially great because it was on a   Monday, so we got a true long weekend, and Chris got the full day off. We were happy to be back in Edmonton again for summer celebrations. We started the day off with the free pancake breakfast at the Legislative Building. It was delicious, as always! We met our friends Daley and Desiree and walked around the grounds, cooling off in the little wadding pools they have.
I feel like Macy is much happier posing with Daley and Desiree than with her parents...
We made it home for lunch and afternoon naps to get ready for our evening party. We had our friends from our old 'Friends Group' that used to get together once a month for dinner and games. It had been awhile since we'd seen everyone, and now we all have kids, so it was even more fun.
We got a cheap little slip'n slide from Target. It was perfect for the little kids. It came with those little boogie boards too. The bottom end would fill with just enough water that you could turn it off for a while and they could just play in the water. Macy also loved going down her slide as a head start, and having her Dad throw her down while she was on the boogie board. Videos next time!
Macy and Georgia Jensen, they are about 2 months apart.
Chris, Kyle and Lena (3 months), and Will
We had BBQ Honey Garlic Wings, Hamburgers, and Hotdogs. Plus salads, chips, cookies, and puff wheat squares. We then got the fire pit started and had some s'mores too.
 Cooling off in the shade.

Happy Canada Day! We love this country!!

It's HOT out!

We've been having some really hot weather lately, and Macy loves to be outside. She's made friends with the neighbour girl, Olivia (only 2 weeks younger) and loves playing with her. After getting sweating running up and down the hill in our backyard the two spent some time in Olivia's little pool cooling off.

Beaumont Daze

Over Father's Day weekend was Beaumont Daze, and the Leishman's were up visiting. Chris and Macy headed out Saturday morning to the Beaumont Parade. It was a windy day, but not really as cold as Macy is making it look!
All they had to do was walk down Grandma and Grandpa's street to get good seats. They got tons of candy and had a lot of fun.
Macy, Anderson, Ruthie, Grandma Lamont, Clark, Grandpa Lamont, Henry, Uncle Steve, and William.
Later that day they went swimming, which is always fun. We celebrated Father's Day that night and had a delicious BBQ with lots of family and good eats. Father's Day was relaxing as we stayed home. Chris got pancakes and bacon for breakfast, Dad's Rootbeer and beef jerky from church, cards from Macy and I, and a new U of Alberta shirt. We had an easy dinner of chicken fingers and french fries..but that's one of Chris' favorites. It was a great weekend.
