More Halloween!

We had a great Halloween. Chris has been working so much (he had maybe two days off in all of October) and finally legally had to take days off, so he was off today, and doesn't go back till Monday. We woke up and got Macy ready for her preschool Halloween party. Again she went as a kitty cat. After we dropped her off, Chris and I went for a breakfast date (we figured it’ll be the last date for a while) at Cora. The breakfast was delicious. I brought my camera, but forgot to take a picture, too bad, because with all the colourful fruit, both our meals were picture worthy. Anyway, after preschool and quiet time Macy went to her library class. We came home, made dinner (chili and cornbread muffins), and got ready for trick or treating.
Here's a picture of our house with a little Halloween decor. Because of freezing and thawing, and moist weather, both our pumpkins were mushy and unable to carve. So we didn't carve this year, but we have a fake Jack-o-latern, and really, I was ok without all the pumpkin carving mess.
Macy and her cool skeleton glasses she got from a classmate at preschool.
It is so hard to get a good picture of her these days, luckily Chris got this one.
Ready to go. The weather wasn't too bad. It was very windy and raining in the afternoon, but the rain stopped, and Chris said with all the running around Macy did, she was plenty warm.
Ready to head out with Dad (I think Macy is looking in her bag and just imagining all the goodies she is about to get). We live in a great neighbourhood, Chris and Macy started out by themselves, but three houses down when they knocked on some friends' house, that family joined, along with another family. Macy had a great time going around with her friends, William, Lasha, and Max, and meeting the new neighbours who just moved in, and have twin 5 year old boys. Chris said it was fun for Macy, but if they hadn't been such a big group, they probably could have gone faster and got more candy. As it was, they were out for over an hour and half!
Excited for her candy, but so willing to share anything with Mom and Dad. What a sweetie!
One more of the house at night. The camera makes the inside look brighter, but we had it pretty dark, so the pumpkins in the window looked great.
It was a fun day, and now we're looking forward to the long weekend we get to spend with Chris.

Halloween, it starts....

Saturday night we had some friends over for a little Halloween party. It was casual, and lots of fun. Macy was so excited to get into costume. She was the cutest little kitty cat.
No pics of Chris and I, but we were construction workers.
We mostly ate and visited, but did do the donut on a string game. The kids are getting older, and they thought it was so fun.
Macy fascinated with what is going on.
Except when it was her turn, she wanted to use her hands.
Which of course we let her do in the end. How could you refuse that cute face.
Again, no pics of the adults, but we did all do it too. I've got to get better at being behind the camera.
Anyways, preschool party tomorrow, and then trick or treating. Happy Halloween to all!

Animals

A couple of weeks ago Aunt Crystal called us to let us know a petting zoo and horse ranch near her place was having a free open house. We were happy to meet up with her, and cousins Clark and Bruce. The petting zoo was really good, my battery died, so I didn't get many good pictures. Macy loved the animals and had no fear going up to them. It was a great way to spend the afternoon.

I included this last picture because the girl below is such an animal herself, in fact, she pretends to be at least three different animals a day, and we have to address her as that animal. Crazy girl!

Go Esks Go!

On Friday we went to our annual Edmonton Eskimos Football game. We think it was the warmest night we've had as we usually have snow and are bundled up in our winter gear. It was a nice change! Unfortunately they lost and it wasn't a particularly exciting game (no killer half-time show like last year’s Vanilla Ice), but it was still a lot of fun and nice to get out as just the two of us.
Of course we got hotdogs, which actually I think are really good.

Fall Festival

In September we headed to the Mill Creek Fall Festival. I love it. The Mill Creek Tree farm, right next to our old house, puts it on every year. Chris was busy working, but Natasha joined Macy and I for the fun. We did apple tasting, went on a hayride and enjoyed the beautiful fall colours, did a craft and scavenger hunt, and got some free candy.
