Canada Day!

I don't know what it is, but I just love Canada Day! Maybe it's that more often than not you get a day off in the middle of the week, or dressing up in red or white, and definitely the free pancake breakfast helps! This year we woke up and headed to the Alberta Legislative grounds for a morning of fun. We started with the pancake breakfast, delicious and well organized as always. You never leave hungry! Then we walked around the grounds and checked out some of the Army tanks they had for viewing. The weather wasn't great, but that didn't stop Macy and Rachel from playing in the water and splashing around. We ended the morning by checking out Daniel Tiger and Miss Patti from Kids CBC. I was totally star struck seeing Miss Patti, haha, and Macy recognized her from our TV. We didn't get a picture with them, the line up was too crazy.
We headed home for lunch and naps. In the afternoon we met up with all the Lamont siblings and their kids along with Grandma and Grandpa at the Beaumont pool. We ended the day eating Navajo tacos at Grandma and Grandpa's. It was a perfect day!
 She's just so excited!

I just can't get enough of this cute face!

Cousins

Jennifer and her kids and Pam and her kids were up in Edmonton the end of June and beginning of July. Macy loved having so many cousins around and often asks to play with Paisley again. We had everyone over one evening to have a fire in our backyard with s'mores, cookies, and watermelon. It was great to visit with everyone and for the kids to run free in the yard. The weather was nice until the very end when it started to rain, which actually worked great at putting the fire out and getting the kids into their vehicles and inside for bed.

Back Yard Fun

Most Saturdays in May and June and before Chris left, you would find him doing yard work and outdoor projects all day. We finally convinced him to take a break and play with us one hot Saturday afternoon. We put on our swimsuits and pulled out the sprinkler and had fun jumping on the trampoline with the sprinkler underneath and enjoying the beautiful day.

Stake BBQ and Bike Ride

This June we participated in our Stake's BBQ and Fun Run/Ride. We decided to do the 12 km bike ride with Chris pulling both the girls in the bike trailer. The course wasn't marked very well and we ended up taking some detours, but it was a nice ride around the River Valley and the girls both did well, Rachel sleeping for most of the ride.
After biking we stayed for BBQ hamburgers and hot dogs, snow cones, watermelon, face painting, and games. It was a fun day.
It was cool in the morning before we started the ride, but warmed up once we got going and were back for lunch.

Macy's Soccer Season 2015

Macy played soccer this spring with the Ardrossan Soccer Association on the Red Devils. The team was U6 boys and girls, so she was playing with kids who were both older and had 2 years experience whereas this was her first year. It was a growing year. She definitely improved throughout the season and we learned that she doesn't have the natural aggression both her parents have when it comes to sports (at least not yet)!
Macy had games Monday and Wednesday nights and had one Saturday tournament. We lucked out with weather and had a great season making it to all our games!
Below are pictures throughout the season. The first few are from her very first night, and the rest are from her Saturday tournament. They had a bouncy castle for in between games which both girls enjoyed. Grandma and Grandpa Lamont joined us for the tournament games to cheer on Macy!
The team: Julia, Coach Bill, Coach Sherri, Macy, Elizabetta (Italian, and totally a natural soccer star), Rylan, Lucas, Connor, and McKenzie.

Edmonton Rush

One of my work bonuses is getting free Edmonton Rush Lacrosse tickets. We ended up going to about 5 season games and then to the finals where the Edmonton Rush won! It was fun getting out on some dates and watching the team throughout the season. Sometimes we went just the two of us, we took friends on a double dates, and took Macy a few times. I've never watched Lacrosse before this, but it is a fun spectator sport, a cross between hockey, basketball, and soccer. Lots of contact action and enough points scored a game to keep it interesting.
Here are some photos from the season.
Macy loved going and was great at cheering "Go Rush Go!!"
The score at the finals, they won 11-10, it was a great match!
