Turkey Trot!

Last weekend Chris and I ran the Univeristy of Alberta Turkey Trot. You could do a 4K or 8K race and we decided to challenge ourselves and do the 8K. Let me tell you, the week leading up I was thinking I was crazy for signing up for 8K and there was no way I would make it, but race day adrenaline is the greatest and we did the 8K no sweat! (well actually with a lot of sweat...)

Back home and ready to hit the showers!

It was a perfect race day. Overcast and 12C. Lots of fun. I told Chris we were going to have to make this an annual thing. We'll see....

September

It has been a busy month just like Septembers almost always are. Chris started school and has a very busy semester. We started up soccer again on Monday nights and I'm so glad we did; lots of fun. Macy started going to the child minding at the gym I go to and loves it! No clingy attachments to me when there are toys and kids to play with. Nursery can't come soon enough!

Fun in Claresholm

Macy and I took a short trip down to Claresholm last weekend to spend time with Grandma Lamont and the Leishman cousins. It was a great time. Macy is such a people person and just loved playing with her cousins and especially with all her cousins toys! They have way more than she does and a great basement to play in.

Bathtimes sure are boring now without her bath buddy Ruthie.

Or without Grandma's fun hairstyles!

It's always fun to have someone push you around.

And good to take turns (although by the look on Macy's face, it looks like more work for her to push than it was for her cousin).

And of course I had fun playing my buddy Anderson! Cousins are great!

Gem

I was going through our summer pictures and found this little gem. I don't know what to make of it. If you stare at it long enough she just starts to look creepy!?!

Day at the Beach

It may be September, but with the temperatures at 30C it feels like the middle of summer! We took advantage of Chris' last day before school started and went to the beach yesterday. It was a great day with only a handful of people there. Too bad the water was a little gross (too much algae). We still had fun and discovered Macy is quite the beach babe! She loved the sand and water and would have stayed all day if she could!

Backyard Fun!

With Chris' birthday money he bought us a firepit for our backyard and we just love it! We had friends over last night for wieners and s'mores and it was great to just be outside and play in our own backyard.

Macy climbed all the way up our hill, which is pretty steep. She is in a real climbing phase right now so I think she really enjoyed herself!

I know these aren't the greatest pictures, but they show what our yard is like. Nice and big with room for lots of family to come and visit! hint, hint!!

Since we were away all summer I am determined to get lots of use from our yard this fall, hopefully its a good one!
