Canada Day

I love Canada Day! It is one of my favorite holidays. This year was especially great because it was on a   Monday, so we got a true long weekend, and Chris got the full day off. We were happy to be back in Edmonton again for summer celebrations. We started the day off with the free pancake breakfast at the Legislative Building. It was delicious, as always! We met our friends Daley and Desiree and walked around the grounds, cooling off in the little wadding pools they have.
I feel like Macy is much happier posing with Daley and Desiree than with her parents...
We made it home for lunch and afternoon naps to get ready for our evening party. We had our friends from our old 'Friends Group' that used to get together once a month for dinner and games. It had been awhile since we'd seen everyone, and now we all have kids, so it was even more fun.
We got a cheap little slip'n slide from Target. It was perfect for the little kids. It came with those little boogie boards too. The bottom end would fill with just enough water that you could turn it off for a while and they could just play in the water. Macy also loved going down her slide as a head start, and having her Dad throw her down while she was on the boogie board. Videos next time!
Macy and Georgia Jensen, they are about 2 months apart.
Chris, Kyle and Lena (3 months), and Will
We had BBQ Honey Garlic Wings, Hamburgers, and Hotdogs. Plus salads, chips, cookies, and puff wheat squares. We then got the fire pit started and had some s'mores too.
 Cooling off in the shade.
Kenji Hara, Penny Jensen, Macy Lamont, Lena Pedersen, and Georgia Jensen.
Happy Canada Day! We love this country!!

Great post and pictures!

I have to ask--are you happy with Target in Canada? Tom sends me articles from the Globe and Mail about it...sounds like prices are higher than the states but still competitive there. True?

The Target is ok. It is under stocked, which I think will just take time. As for prices, they are nothing special. Similar to Wal-Mart and Superstore, unless they are on sale. I have got some cute and cheaper summer clothes for Macy, the variety is nice. I think it'll take closer to a year to see if it'll really be great...
