Rachel Patricia Lamont

I am so happy to do this post about the fourth little member of our family, Rachel Patricia Lamont! Rachel joined our family last Thursday, November 7, 2013, at 2:04 pm, weighing 8 lbs 13 oz and 20 ¼ in long. We were all excited to have her arrive and finally meet baby sister.
In short, I felt my first contraction at around 1 am on Thursday. I was able to sleep a little longer, and finally woke up at 5am. We left for the hospital at 5:45am and dropped Macy off at the Anderson’s. We are so grateful for their willingness to watch Macy. When we arrived to drop her off, their son Ethan was already awake and waiting for Macy at their front window. I immediately felt reassured that she would be fine, and didn’t have to worry about her all day.
Once at the hospital, they admitted us and we walked around to keep things progressing. I got my epidural around 8:30 (so worth it, my body just isn’t made to go natural!) and was ready to push at about 1:50. Shortly after Rachel joined us. I was able to hold her right away and enjoyed that moment, knowing that Rachel was meant for us and would fit right in to our family. My recovery since has been good, so much better than the first time. Macy was able to spend the first weekend with her Grandparents Lamont, which was nice for everyone. Macy was spoiled with love and attention, and Chris and I were able to get to know Rachel. Chris has been home all week, and we have loved spending time as a family. We will definitely miss him tomorrow when he goes back to work!!
Here I am in the waiting room. Ready to have this baby!
Chris left to pick Macy up at around 5pm. They came to the hospital with balloons Macy had picked out. Macy also brought a gift for Rachel, a baby doll. Rachel had a gift ready for Macy too, a stuffed penguin Macy had wanted.
When Grandma Lamont arrived, Macy perked up and was more excited about Rachel.
Our good friend Natasha was able to stop by and meet baby Rachel.
 First bath!
Friday morning Uncle Steve, Aunt Crystal, and cousins Clark and Bruce came to visit.
Rachel with the doll from big sister!
All dressed and ready to go home.
We were able to leave Friday around noon. It was nice to get home where the bed and chairs and are comfy and get settled as a new family of four.

She's perfect and I'll say it again, those chubby little arms (and cheeks!) are so delicious! Congrats! Way to go Val!

I can't wait to come and hold your new little one! Rachel fits her going-home clothes great, no baggy clothes for that girl! (Love the photo of the three girls together on the bed!)
